Expectations

Should I set the bar low, or set it high? For myself? For people that I have in my life? What is appropriate? Do I set unreasonable expectations, or is it that I don’t see to forgive people or let them have another go at it if they don’t reach it, or if I don’t reach my own expectations? Someone could say that an expectation is unreasonable or too high of a bar, while someone else may say it’s too low. How do we come to a compromise?
